Program Manager


Nicole Redford joined Higher in November of 2016. Previously, Nicole was the Employment Coordinator for USCRI in their North Carolina field office, overseeing four Federal and State employment programs: Matching Grant, Refugee Assistance Program, Targeted Assistance Grant, and the Cuban Haitian programs. Nicole has experience working as a job developer, case manager, MG Coordinator and in other areas of resettlement. At USCRI of NC, she started the agency’s first job upgrade program securing grants and private donations to keep the program staffed. In 2008, Nicole received her Master’s in Global Affairs from New York University. In 2006 Nicole began working with the International Rescue Committee in Youth Programs at the resettlement office in NYC. Later she worked as the US Program Manager for Art for Refugees in Transition, a small nonprofit that built program to help displaced refugee populations reconnect with their cultural traditions in art, story telling, and cooking. Nicole went to the University of North Carolina at Asheville for her undergraduate degree and was born and raised in London, Ontario, Canada.  In her free time Nicole loves to read and play with her dog Simba and like most Canadians enjoys a good game of hockey.


Katie Jipson

Network Engagement Specialist


Katie Jipson joined Higher in December of 2017. Previously, Katie was an Employment Coordinator for Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley (CSSMV) Refugee Resettlement Program in Dayton, OH. Katie assisted newly arriving refugees, SIVs, asylees and secondary-migrants in the Matching Grant, Refugee Social Services Program, and Targeted Assistance Grants. Katie has experience workings as an Employment Coordinator, TAG Coordinator, Volunteer and Resource Coordinator, and Case Manager at CSSMV. Katie graduated from the University of Dayton in 2012 with a B.A. in Human Rights Studies and Political Science, and minors in Anthropology and Sociology. In her free time Katie loves to play with her cat Milo, going to any and all antique malls, and traveling.
