Sriracha hot sauce is a great example of a “foreign” food that is uniquely American (think of our versions of pizza and sweet and sour pork). It has a facebook page, mainstream fan base, cookbooks and t-shirts. It’s been in the news recently because of a lawsuit related to the smell created by the factory in California.
