Sriracha: Created and Manufactured by a Former Refugee

SrirachaSriracha hot sauce is a great example of a “foreign” food that is uniquely American (think of our versions of pizza and sweet and sour pork).  It has a facebook page, mainstream fan base, cookbooks and t-shirts.  It’s been in the news recently because of a lawsuit related to the smell created by the factory in California.  You may not have known that the founder and owner came to the US from North Vietnam as a refugee.  Read more about this great success story here and look for more to follow from Higher.
