Friday Feature: The ReSettled Podcast

If you haven’t already seen it, you’ve got to check out the amazing video podcast The Resettled.

The Tzu Chi Foundation has produced 5 episodes so far, which feature refugees from Vietnam, Iraq, Burma, Liberia and Congo. In these short documentaries, resettled refugees respond to current fears about resettlement with their own stories in their own words.

Artists, resettlement program managers, college students and families talk about their journeys, dreams, challenges and lives in Michigan, Idaho, San Francisco and New York.

These stories highlight many of the common barriers to employment that we address every day such as cultural adjustment, religious observance and the pressure of working and going to school.

Any one of these videos would be a great addition to volunteer training programs, a staff meeting or new hire orientations.

Here is the trailer for the series. Enjoy!

(On occasional Fridays, we highlight one entertainment option related to our clients or some aspect of our work to help you celebrate the weekend and possibly recommend to employers and other community supporters in the following week.)
